Apple has a nifty way of limiting the amount of times a photo of someone unwanted - let’s say, your ex - from popping up on your phone without you having to trawl through the memories. To avoid any sense of dread and nauseating feeling of nostalgia when that unsuspecting pic of an old flame alerts your phone, iPhone users can actually choose to miss those mishaps.
However, not everyone is ready or willing to go cold turkey on some of their long-gone loves. But if you’re in a situation with a new partner and you get a surprise memory from your photo album that just so happens to be of your ex, then it might kill the vibe.
Thankfully, the brains over at Apple have come up with a remedy for this very situation. To save you the agg and trouble of having a partner getting upset or worried about your phone reminding you of times gone by, you’ll need to follow a few simple steps.

Here are the quick and easy steps you can use to remove unwanted faces from your camera roll:
Dive into the Photos app on your phone, before choosing Albums. Here you’ll have to scroll to find the People & Places section.
Click on the People section, where you’ll be inundated with a collection of your nearest and maybe not so dearests’ faces. There’ll be friends, family and pets - oh, and your ex.
You’ll need to select said person, there should be three dots at the top right of the screen. Here is where you’ll be given a choice. Two, in fact. ‘Feature This Person Less’ and ‘Never Feature This Person’.
The options read, ‘Feature This Person Less. Individual photos and videos of this person will not be featured or included in Memories, but group photos including them may still be shown,’ and, ‘Never Feature This Person. No photos of this person will be featured or included in Memories, including group photos’.
