Live New Cross Gate crash updates after 'serious accident' involving London bus as major road closed

A 'serious accident' between a London bus and a car is believed to have happened on the A2 New Cross Road this morning (December 30). The road has been blocked in both directions as a result of the crash.

Traffic site Inrix reported: "A2 New Cross Road in both directions blocked, stationary traffic due to serious accident, a bus and a car involved between A202 Queens Road and New Cross Gate Station. Diversion - for numerous bus routes."

Several London bus routes are said to be on diversion after the crash. The nature of the incident is not yet known and it is unclear if there have been any injuries.

Photos from the scene show the front of a car crushed after a person was reportedly 'trapped by their legs'.
