When it comes to Christmas Day TV there are some shows that always receive top billing, and ever since its return to the BBC in 2005 Doctor Who has been one of those.
This year the show is back once again with the brand new Fifteenth Doctor Ncuti Gatwa taking the reigns of his first solo adventure. The Church on Ruby Road is set to be a soft reboot, taking the programme in a fresh new direction.
Fans waiting for the special were treated to three special episodes earlier this month featuring favourite David Tennant as he reprised his role as the Fourteenth Doctor.

In those specials he teamed up with former companion Donna Noble on a series of adventures culminating in a showdown with the Toymaker who landed a fatal blow, forcing the Doctor to regenerate.
In an unprecedented step this resulted in bi-regeneration though, leaving two split Doctors played by Tennant and Gatwa, the former retiring to a quiet life with Donna's family as the latter took to the stars for more adventure.
These adventures begin at 5.55pm on Christmas Day (December 25) on BBC One and also on BBC iPlayer.
In the special, which is slated to run 55 minutes, The Doctor teams up with a potential new companion Ruby Sunday played by former Coronation Street star Millie Gibson.
Also appearing in the special will be TV host Davina McCall playing herself, the second time she's featured in Doctor Who after voicing the Davinadroid in the 2005 episode Bad Wolf.
Trailers for the episode showed shots of the Doctor dancing in a nightclub and jumping across rooftops before climbing aboard a pirate ship sailing through the clouds filled with goblins.
You can watch the special at 5.55pm on Christmas Day (December 25) on BBC One and also on BBC iPlayer.
