A man has been arrested on suspicion of wanton and furious driving after a cyclist was killed in a crash with a horse and cart in east London.

The incident took place at about 18:10 GMT on Wednesday on Folly Lane in Chingford. The e-bike rider, a man aged 46, died at the scene.

The driver of the horse and cart, aged 25, remains in police custody. The victim's family are being supported by specialist officers, the Metropolitan Police said.

Det Sgt Faye Cook, from the Met's serious collisions investigation unit, said: "This is a tragic incident that has resulted in the sad death of a man. We have made an arrest and our investigation continues."

She added: "We would ask that anyone with information, CCTV or dash cam footage to contact my officers."
