A 13-year-old boy is accused of stabbing a pupil in the neck with a kitchen knife in front of children in a north-west London classroom, a court has heard.
Westminster Magistrates' Court was told the boy sprayed ant killer in a child's face as he entered a classroom before he stabbed a 13-year-old. The child sustained three stab wounds, a spinal fracture and injuries to the neck and hands that needed surgery.
After leaving the classroom, he then stabbed a 12-year-old boy, causing him a 3cm (1in) cut on his neck, the court heard.
The boy, who cannot be named due to his age, has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, following the incident at Kingsbury High School, Brent, on Tuesday.
He has also been charged with possession of a knife on school premises without good reason or lawful authority and unlawfully and maliciously administering a noxious substance to a third child.
Less than a minute passed between the first and second knife attacks, the court heard.
Prosecutor Kathryn Selby told the hearing it is alleged he had filmed the "unprovoked attacks" on his phone.
Numerous children and a teacher were present, the court heard.
The defendant was at large for about three hours before being arrested near a mosque, the court heard.
The conditions of two alleged stab victims are not thought to be life-threatening but whether they are life-changing is uncertain, the prosecution said.
The teenager appeared in the court on Thursday wearing a grey prison-issue tracksuit.
Two family members sat on the seats in front of the dock and the defendant spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth.
Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring remanded him into a youth detention facility to appear at the Old Bailey on 27 February.
Kingsbury High School remains closed for pupils in Years 7 to 9 but is expected to reopen fully on Friday.
