Police release pictures in hunt for teen's killer
Detectives investigating the killing of a teenager in south London have released CCTV images of him on the evening he was fatally stabbed a week ago.
The 18-year-old, who has yet to be named, was found injured in Peckham after reports of an assault on Rye Lane, near the junction with Heaton Road, shortly after 19:00 GMT on Saturday 14 February.
He was given emergency medical treatment at the scene for stab wounds before being taken to hospital, where he later died.
He was pictured riding his moped on nearby Nigel Road a few minutes before he was attacked. Officers want to talk to people who were in the area that evening and are appealing for doorbell and dashcam footage.
No arrests have been made so far, although the Met Police said it was working "at pace" to catch his killer.
Det Ins Christina Clayton said: "Peckham Rye is a busy area – densely populated with residents, pedestrians, public transport users and drivers – which means there is a potential for witnesses.
"You may think it is something small, but it may make a massive difference to our investigation.
"We recognise that talking to the police can be daunting. We are here to listen and there are lots of ways to speak to us anonymously – including through Crimestoppers."
