Triple fatal White City fire investigated by Met
Detectives are investigating the cause of a fire that killed three men at a disused building in west London on Saturday.
Two men died at the scene of the blaze in the single-story building on New Zealand Way on the White City Estate while the third died later in hospital, London Fire Brigade (LFB) said.
Hammersmith and Fulham Council, which owns the building, said those who were inside it at the time of the fire were not residents of the housing estate.
The Metropolitan Police said it was working with "international partners" to identify and inform the men's next of kin. A crime scene remains in place around the building, the force added.
The burnt-out building - believed to be a disused drop-in centre - sits behind White City Community Centre and near Queens Park Rangers Football Club.
About 100 firefighters and 15 fire engines were deployed shortly before 19:00 BST and spent almost three hours bringing the flames under control.
The London Ambulance Service treated nine people at the scene, including those who died. Two survivors were taken to a major trauma centre.
A Met spokesperson said: "Police were called at 19:07 BST on Saturday 20 June to New Zealand Way following reports of a fire.
"Two men sadly died at the scene. A third man was taken to hospital where he sadly died.
"Enquiries are in the early stages, and an investigation to determine the cause of the fire is ongoing. A crime scene remains in place."
