A woman has admitted killing her paralysed sister, who died after contracting sepsis from bed sores linked to "toxic" living conditions.
Kelly Neill, 48, had been left partially paralysed after she had suffered a stroke in January 2018 and had been living at the family home in Deptford.
On the morning of 20 October 2022, Michelle Neill, 55, called an ambulance and paramedics found Kelly Neill lying on the living room floor in unsanitary conditions. She was taken to St Thomas's Hospital but died three days later.
Michelle Neill, who had been caring for her sister following the death of their mother, pleaded guilty to her manslaughter when she appeared at the Old Bailey.
The court heard ambulance staff found Kelly Neill to be distressed and groaning when they arrived at the home.
She later died in hospital from sepsis caused by multiple skin ulcers and complications from the earlier stroke.
Prosecutors said Michelle Neill unlawfully killed her sister by breaching her duty of care and failing to seek medical assistance.
Judge Richard Marks KC adjourned sentencing at the Old Bailey.
A date has yet to be fixed.
