London to be hit with 28 hours of rain as Met Office issues weather warning

London is due to be hit with 28 hours of rain as the Met Office issue a weather warning this morning (Wednesday, January 7). The downpour is set to cause disruption, particularly to transport.

The warning is in place tomorrow (Thursday, February 8). It will last from 2am in the morning until 6am on Friday, February 9. The warning tells people in London to expect flooding to a few homes and businesses as well as on roads. It is also expected that bus and train services will be affected and journey times will be longer.

According to the Met Office's forecast, there are only around two hours of the day when rain is not expected. This is between 3pm and 5pm. From 6am there is more than 90 per cent of precipitation which is set to continue until at least midday.

The afternoon sees less chance of rain but the downpour will still continue. This rain is set to continue until 3pm on the Friday.

The forecaster also predicts a wet Saturday as the bad weather continues. On Thursday, it is also expected to feel rather chilly.

With a low of 5C, feeling like 1C, be prepared to wrap up warm for the conditions. The hottest it will be is 10C later in the day.

BBC Weather also predicts that there will be heavy rain as well as a gentle breeze, so make sure you have your umbrellas ready!
